I love an engagement session that involves a little effort.

Not a full sufferfest. Just enough of a hike to make the views feel earned and everyone’s hair look appropriately wind-affected.

This White Mountains hiking engagement session took place on Bald Peak in the Franconia area, which is one of my favorite spots to take my couples. It’s not the biggest mountain around, but it has that perfect New Hampshire magic: a short-ish hike, open ledges, big views, and plenty of room to wander around.

The best part is that this was only the warm-up. This summer, they’ll be getting married at Lakes of the Clouds Hut on Mount Washington, which is about as dreamy and wildly New Hampshire as it gets. I cannot wait.
